For many years we have been avid art fair patrons.  Each trip seemed to increase our creativity and interest in trying our hand at creating our own works of art.  Jim had dabbled in photography, woodworking and furniture making through the years.  Gloria on the other hand has been interested in calligraphy, sewing and stained glass.

While on a trip to Venice in 2000 we were amazed by all of the beautiful glass.  We were especially taken with the wide array of pendants, rings, vases and other items made from Millefiore glass.  We brought back many items as gifts and souvenirs for our friends who were delighted with these colorful and unique gifts.  We later learned that millefiore means "thousand flowers" in Italian and that the creations are made from dozens, and sometimes hundreds, of small pieces of Millefiore glass.  When combined into patterns they make very fascinating designs.

When Gloria was taking several classes in jewelry design and glasswork, we wondered if we could use the Millefiore glass to make our own jewelry.  After much experimenting, we started making pendants, earrings and cuff links as gifts for our friends.  Since they have now all tired of getting glass jewelry as presents, we knew we either had to start selling our jewelry or find another hobby.  So now we have this web site and go to craft fairs.

In 2004 we thought we could combine glass making with one of our other hobbies, wine.  Typically we try not to combine the two at the same time, however that does explain some of our designs.  This also explains our Millefiore bottle stoppers.
